Randy Boyer  (1954-56; player)

  • Boyertown Class of 1957
  • Played right back and safety from 1954 to 1956
  • Area's leading scorer as a senior, with 14 touchdowns
  • All-Berks selection during senior season as a safety
  • Also completed in track and field (100 dash, 200 relay, pole vault)
  • Personal:
    > Worked at Firestone until becoming a woodworker.  Now retired
    > Married to his wife Lisa with one son (Phillip Robert) and four grandchildren
  • Best Boyertown Football Memory:  His 55-yard run against Pottstown in 1956 (first meeting between Boyertown and Pottstown), helping the Bears to the upset 12-6 victory

 

David "Daisy" Erb (1951-53; player)

 

  • Boyertown Class of 1954
  • Played football for three years and was a four-year starter in baseball and basketball
  • Played halfback, running back, and defensive back
  • All-league selection during senior season in football, basketball, and baseball
  • Basketball and baseball coach Warren Fry encouraged Daisy to play football and he excelled
  • Personal:
    > Was married to his wife June for 45 years and had four children (Jace, Marcy, Jeb, and Adam)

 

Donald Grim (1959-1987; player)

 

  • Boyertown Class of 1952
  • Lineman and tackle for Pottstown, also was on the track team throwing discus (3rd in Ches-Mont as a senior)
  • Competed in football (four-year starter and captain as a senior), basketball and track at Delaware Valley College
  • Honorable Mention Little All-American as a senior at DelVal
  • Tried out for the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Assistant football coach at Boyertown from 1959 to 1981, then head coach from 1982 to 1987
  • Coached track and taught earth science for 37 years at Boyertown
  • Director of the Venzke Relays for 30 years
  • Personal:
    > Married to his wife Sara for 48 years with three children (Keely, Kelly, and Keith) and four grandchildren
    > Credits his years of coaching success to his wife and kids
  • Best Boyertown Football memory:  Coaching the JV team in 1979, playing all games on the road and going undefeated.  A group of mothers (called the JV Jollies) went to every gram for support

 

Robert Reinhart (contributor)

 

  • Boyertown Class of 1962
  • Long time football booster and program contributor
  • Treasurer of the Sports Complex Committee, which was formed in 1982 to renovate BASH Memorial and create practice fields
  • Since the renovation, the committee has raised an additional $282,000 for various Boyertown Area School District uniform, stadium lights, medial equipment, payment for assistant coaches, weight room equipment, and another $50,000 towards the new track surface.
