The Bears opened league play by traveling to Methacton to take on the Warriors for the 17th meeting between the two foes.
Methacton took the opening kickoff and ground out a 9-play 75-yard drive that ended on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Kolby Holworth to Ryan Brandi 4:10 seconds into the game Aiden Drozd added the extra point and the Warriors were up 7-0.
The Bears were held to three and out after the kickoff when a blocked punt by Caleb Schulz was recovered at about the 10-yard line by Brandi and just two minutes and eighteen seconds later the score was 13-0. Aidan McCullough blocked the extra point and the score was 13-0.
The Bears cut the lead at 3:24 of the first quarter as Michael Boorse (5 rushes 58 yards) scored on a 37-yard touchdown run plus a Gavin Royce kick cut the score to 13-7.
The second quarter scoring opened at 9:10 on a Kolby Holworth keeper that he took to the endzone on a 7-yard run. Methacton missed the 2 point conversion and the score was 19-7.
Boyertown answered back on the ensuing kickoff when Logan Oakes returned a kickoff 79 yards once again Royce added the extra point and cut the score to 19-14.
Methacton scored three more times as Kolby Holworth scored again on a 13-yard run at 2:13 of the second quarter.
The Warriors got two touchdowns in the 4th quarter from Roman Brown on runs of 4 yards and 12 yards. |
